Spirit 1/Charwoman … and Guest #2.
A little background on yourself:
This is a full-circle experience—I grew up doing a lot of theatre in Seattle, and I got to come back to one of my favorite plays!
How many years have you been in ACT’s A Christmas Carol?
This is my third—my first was in 2001 as Belinda Cratchit and second in 2004 as Martha Cratchit!
What do you look forward to each year?
12-year-old me would have been absolutely thrilled to know I would get to play this part! It’s hard to beat walking onstage and having glitter fall on you.
How do you get ready for a show?
The show wouldn’t be possible without our amazing dressers: Cora, Anji, Courtney, and Rachel. They make sure we’re ready.
What do you always have to have in your dressing room?
Baby wipes—there’s a lot of sparkly makeup to get off.
If you could be any character in A Christmas Carol, who would you be?
For those who have never seen ACT’s A Christmas Carol, what is the best moment of the show (whether it’s onstage or backstage)?
Anything that comes up from the trap—it’s cool no matter how many times you see it.
See Maya in A Christmas Carol, now-Dec 28. Tickets available here.
